A Festive Celebration of Unity and Joy: SWA & Symrise’s Year-End Party
On December 7, 2024, the spirit of the season came alive as the Singapore Women’s Association (SWA) partnered with Symrise Asia Pacific Pte Ltd to host a heartwarming year-end lunch at the elegant Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine. This vibrant gathering brought together 113 participants, including families from Star Shelter, Anglican Family Centre, and Casa Raudha Ltd. It was a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and festive cheer, made possible by the dedication of 15 enthusiastic volunteers from SWA and 15 from Symrise.
A Magical Welcome with Santa Claus
The celebration began with an enchanting welcome from Santa Claus himself! Guests were greeted with warm smiles, festive gifts, and the chance to capture magical moments at a photo booth. Meanwhile, the children’s laughter resonated through the hall as they enjoyed the excitement of various game booths. The atmosphere was a true reflection of holiday joy, beautifully set against the backdrop of colorful balloons and decorations lovingly arranged by volunteers Angeline Yang and Serene Tan.
Inspiring Words to Set the Tone
SWA President Lee Li Hua and Ethan Koh from the Symrise Volunteer Committee opened the event with heartfelt welcome speeches, emphasizing the importance of community and the power of collective joy. Their words set the stage for a day that celebrated togetherness and the simple pleasures of giving back.
A Feast to Remember
No celebration is complete without good food, and this event was no exception. Guests were treated to a delectable Halal buffet lunch, topped off with a delightful ice cream booth. It was a feast that satisfied every palate and added to the warmth of the occasion.
Performances and Games: Fun for Everyone
The afternoon was brought to life by touching performances from residents of Star Shelter and Anglican Family Centre, who showcased their talents through songs and dances that uplifted the spirits of everyone present.
Adding to the festive excitement, Vanessa, Miss Singapore International 2024, stepped into the role of Game Master for an engaging table game challenge. Each table received a building surface and 1,000 Lego blocks, with the task of creating the most attractive, creative, and sturdy structure in just 20 minutes. The room buzzed with energy as participants collaborated, showcased teamwork, and let their imaginations soar. Judged by Lee Li Hua and Ethan Koh, the top three tables were awarded prizes for their innovative designs.
High Hopes and Lucky Draws
The highlight of the event was the much-anticipated lucky draw segment, hosted by the ever-enthusiastic Kyla Tan, who also served as the Master of Ceremony. With Sara Mei Woo, SWA Advisor, conducting the draws, the air was filled with excitement as guests eagerly awaited their chance to win.
Memories to Cherish
As the event drew to a close at 2:30 PM, smiles were abundant, and hearts were full. Guests departed with cherished memories, door gifts, prizes from the games, balloons, and their precious photos with Santa. Volunteers from both SWA and Symrise ensured a smooth farewell, embodying the true spirit of the season through their kindness and service.
This event was not just a celebration of the holidays but also a testament to the strength of community and the beauty of coming together to spread joy and love. Here’s to more moments like these in the future—where hearts are connected, and spirits are uplifted!
