On July 23, 2025, the Singapore Women’s Association (SWA) Laughter Yoga Wellness Club, in collaboration with Project Smile had the honor of hosting Dr. Madan Kataria and Madam Madhuri, the founders of Laughter Yoga. The event brought together 280 seniors from seven Active Ageing Centres:

Benefits of Laughter Yoga

During the session, Dr. Kataria and Madam Madhuri shared the benefits of Laughter Yoga, including ¹:

Laughter Yoga Session

The founders led the seniors through the four steps of Laughter Yoga ¹:

  1. Clapping: Setting the tone for a joyful session
  2. Yoga Breathing: Focusing on breathwork and relaxation
  3. Childlike Playfulness: Embracing inner child and playfulness
  4. Laughter Exercises: Engaging in contagious laughter

The session concluded with a Positive Affirmation dance, leaving everyone feeling uplifted and energized.

Special Thanks

A special vegetarian lunch was served, and participants had the opportunity to take group photos with Dr. Kataria and Madam Madhuri. Each attendee received a yellow massage relief ball as a token of appreciation.
