Inspiring Women Through Laughter Yoga at Bishan Community Club

The Singapore Women’s Association (SWA) Laughter Yoga Wellness Club was honoured to be invited to conduct a Laughter Yoga session at the Bishan Community Club on 8 March 2026, in celebration of International Women’s Day.

Celebrating International Women’s Day

The event was organised by the Bishan CC Women’s Executive Committee with the meaningful theme “Celebrating Every Woman, Honouring Every Story.” About 60 residents participated in the celebration, which included Laughter Yoga, games, styling, and sustainable fashion activities.

During the session, SWA curated a special series of International Women’s Day Laughter Yoga exercises designed to inspire and empower women. Through these activities, participants celebrated important messages: women are strong and flexible, like trees that sway in the wind yet remain resilient; women can support one another to break bias; and women can step up, step out, and embrace opportunities with confidence and courage.

In addition to signature Laughter Yoga exercises such as “Teh Tarik” and “Roti Prata,” participants enjoyed rhythmic clapping, deep breathing, laughter exercises, and joyful dance movements. The atmosphere was lively and uplifting, with enthusiastic participation from all attendees.

Laughter Yoga for Women’s Wellness

Laughter Yoga is a powerful wellness practice that combines laughter with breathing exercises to improve physical, mental, and emotional well-being. For women, it provides a supportive space to release stress, build confidence, strengthen social connections, and cultivate a positive mindset.

The session was led by three certified teachers and five leaders from the SWA Laughter Yoga Wellness Club, whose dedication and energy helped create a meaningful and memorable celebration.

Through initiatives like this, SWA continues to promote women’s wellness, resilience, and empowerment — reminding every woman that joy, strength, and support can be found in shared laughter.
