By Lee Li Hua, 6 Dec, 2025

On 6 December 2025, the Singapore Women’s Association gathered to celebrate and thank all our volunteers, supporters, and sponsors who brought our mission to life throughout 2025. From eye screenings to laughter sessions, festive celebrations to life-changing programmes, every moment was made possible by you. This evening was our heartfelt tribute to every heart that gave and every hand that served.

A Year of Hearts in Action

Throughout 2025, SWA volunteers reached thousands of lives across Singapore through diverse community programmes. Tonight, we thank every individual who made this extraordinary year possible, from dedicated laughter yoga leaders to eye care professionals, from NDP celebration organisers to shelter support coordinators. Each programme represented countless hours of compassionate service and unwavering commitment to our community.

Laughter Yoga Wellness Club: Healing Through Laughter

In 2025, our Laughter Yoga volunteers reached over 10,000 people across Singapore through countless sessions at Active Ageing Centres, hospitals, and community spaces. Led by Sara Mei Woo, our Advisor and Trainer, the team trained new leaders, earned five-year recognition from Ren Ci, and brought healing laughter to our community week after week.

Our certified leaders, Angela Wong, Feng Fang (Laughter Yoga Ambassador), Faith Ong, and Wendy Khon, demonstrated exceptional dedication throughout the year. Their partnerships with Project Smile, Tanglin CC WEC, RSVP Singapore, Ren Ci Community Hospital, and Sree Narayana Mission created countless moments of joy and healing.

Lunar New Year Celebration

On 19 February 2025, our volunteers welcomed over 300 seniors from eight Active Ageing Centres to celebrate Lunar New Year together at Chui Huay Lim Club with warmth and joy. This beautiful reunion brought together our community in the spirit of festive celebration.

We express our deep gratitude to PetroChina International (Singapore) for their generous sponsorship of this celebration, to all volunteers who served with genuine care, and to our entertainment team who brought smiles and laughter to every table.

National Day Celebrations at Ren Ci

In August, 122 volunteers brought National Day joy to two Ren Ci facilities, celebrating with 67 residents across two heartfelt events. On 2 August, sixty volunteers celebrated with 27 residents at Ren Ci Community Hospital. On 16 August, sixty-two volunteers brought festivities to 40 residents at Ren Ci @ Bukit Batok.

Special recognition goes to Kyla Tan (MSI 2010) and Ian Tan, our bilingual emcees who led singalongs, and Miss Singapore stars Tanisha Tan (MSI 2025) and Ella Wong (MSPI 2025 finalist) for their gracious participation. The SWA Laughter Yoga Wellness Club delivered NDP-themed laughter sessions at both locations, bringing joy and patriotic spirit to all residents.

We thank Symrise Asia Pacific Pte Ltd for their generous support for decorations and activities, and acknowledge our dedicated activity leaders: Cecilia Thean, Carmen, and Seah Chin Aik for performances; Adeline Teow for coordinating games at both locations; Sandra Lawady and Angeline Yang for activities; Cecilia Tan, Kim Goek, and Janet Lum for logistics; and Michelle Tan with her team of 10 workplace colleagues who volunteered together. All 122 volunteers created patriotic celebrations complete with games, music, laughter yoga, photo corners, and ice cream treats.

Singapore VisionCare Programme: Opening Eyes, Opening Futures

Since 1990, our VisionCare volunteers have provided free eye screenings and spectacles to those in need. In 2025, led by Chairperson Dr. Stephanie Young, our volunteer optometrists and eye care professionals screened 80 participants at SWA Office with Braddell Heights Harmony Circle, graced by Guest-of-Honour Speaker of Parliament Mr Seah Kian Peng, and served Thomson Shunfu community members with Guest-of-Honour MP Ms Gan Siow Huang.

Our deepest gratitude goes to all volunteers, administrative coordinators, and community partners who restore the gift of sight. After 35 years of excellence, SVP continues to open eyes and open futures for those in need.

Project Rebuild: Supporting Women and Children

Through our partnership with Symrise Asia Pacific, Project Rebuild provides financial support, skills training, and community connection to women and children rebuilding their lives with dignity after domestic violence. We thank our dedicated corporate partner Symrise, shelter coordinators at Star Shelter, AFC Temporary Refuge, and Casa Raudha, plus all activity volunteers and skills trainers who empower independent futures.

Jumbo Seafood Partnership

Throughout the year, Jumbo Seafood offers special takeaway combos exclusively to SWA members, with all proceeds supporting our community programmes. Every purchase directly funds our mission. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Adeline, a SWA member whose dedication and coordination has made this ongoing partnership a beautiful tradition of giving.

We thank Jumbo Seafood for their generous partnership supporting our community initiatives, and all SWA members whose purchases directly fund our programmes for seniors, women, and children.

Banda Active Ageing Centre Outreach

This SWA-sponsored project brought joy and companionship to Banda Active Ageing Centre seniors through six memorable outings over twelve months from November 2024 to October 2025. SWA member Adeline organised her own dedicated volunteer team, creating opportunities for 210 seniors to explore, connect, and experience community beyond their centre walls.

Thank you to the 108 volunteers who gave their time, energy, and hearts to make every outing special. Through six carefully planned excursions throughout the year, 210 seniors participated in meaningful community experiences that strengthened bonds with our community partners at Banda AAC.
