Eye Screening for Braddell Heights Residents at SWA

On 16 November 2025, the Singapore Women’s Association (SWA) partnered with Braddell Heights Harmony Circle to organise the Singapore Vision Programme (SVP) Eye Screening at the SWA Office. The event successfully screened 80 participants, including Braddell Heights residents aged 40 and above.

We were honoured to have Mr Seah Kian Peng, Speaker of Parliament and Advisor for Marine Parade-Braddell Heights, grace the event with his presence. His attendance underscored the importance of community health initiatives and the meaningful partnership between SWA and Braddell Heights Harmony Circle.

Thorough eye examinations ensuring comprehensive health assessments
Screening Results
The screenings successfully identified various eye conditions among participants, including cataract, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), optic nerve issues, as well as hypertension and diabetes-related findings. Early detection enabled timely referrals for further medical consultation, and participants received personalised advice from the volunteer doctors regarding their eye health.

The event was made possible through the generous support of the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), which provided goodie bags for all participants. The affordable $2 screening fee ensured accessibility for Braddell Heights residents.
