SWA Project Taking Charge

Project Taking Charge has been operating in Singapore shelters since 2018, with our most recent program running from July 6 to August 20, 2024. Eleven residents from AFC Temporary Shelter (Singapore Anglican Community Services) participated in this comprehensive empowerment initiative.

The program directly addresses the specific needs of women in temporary housing situations, focusing on rebuilding confidence, recognizing self-worth, identifying capabilities, developing professional communication skills, and establishing sound financial planning. Through structured modules covering life planning, effective communication, interview preparation, professional image presentation, customer service skills, and constructive feedback processes, participants acquire practical tools to achieve their personal and family goals.

Each component is strategically designed to equip these women with the essential skills needed for self-sufficiency and successful reintegration into the workforce and broader community.
