SWA Brings National Day Fun at Ren Ci @ Woodlands

On August 4, 2024, the Singapore Women's Association (SWA) brought the spirit of National Day to the seniors at Ren Ci @ Woodlands. The festive atmosphere filled the air as volunteers and residents came together to celebrate Singapore's 59th birthday.

Everyone started by singing the National Anthem together. Then, Rui Yun, 2nd Runner Up of Miss Singapore Pageant International 2024, led everyone in saying the pledge. Kyla Tan, Miss Singapore International 2010 winner and a SWA board member, was the MC for the day. She kept everyone excited and involved throughout the celebration.

Then came the fun part - Laughter Yoga! Angela Wong, N Raja, Fang Fang, and Qian Hui led everyone in laughing and moving around. Seniors and volunteers had so much fun together!

The celebration had lots of great music. Shu Qi Ong sang "Home", making everyone feel patriotic. Yumie Ong Seok Li performed "Tian Mi Mi" and "Dayung Sampan", bringing back good memories. Henry Quek touched hearts with "小人物的心聲". Later, Cecilia Thean and Shu Qi Ong teamed up for "望春風", while James Poh Hock Choon sang "往事只能回味" and Cecilia Thean finished with "幸福寫臉上".

There were also fun games for everyone. Seniors tried their luck at throwing bean bags, tossing rings, and even catching toy geese! A photo booth captured happy moments, and an ice cream stand gave out yummy treats.

By the end of the day, it was clear that SWA and Ren Ci had brought real National Day joy to these seniors. The smiles on their faces showed how much they enjoyed being part of the celebration.
