22nd July 2023 was Racial Harmony Day, and the Singapore Women's Association (SWA) played a significant role in making it memorable.
Ten enthusiastic SWA members actively participated in the day's activities at Haw Par Villa from 9 am to 12:30 pm. The event, organised by SingaRangoli, had a particular highlight: creating a mural using recycled materials, aiming for an entry into the Singapore Book of Records.
Eco-friendly mural crafted from painted styrofoam boards, stretching 18.7m by 1.2m
Our team's hard work culminated in an eco-friendly mural crafted from painted styrofoam boards, stretching 18.7m by 1.2m. This remarkable achievement earned us a proud Singapore Book of Records spot.
But that wasn't our only record-setting achievement of the day. The "Mass Clapping Yoga" event, which saw our members joining hands with 216 participants, also made its mark in the Singapore Book of Records, showcasing the collective spirit of the event.
