Eye screening exercise at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital
Singapore Women's Association (SWA) was invited to conduct an eye screening exercise at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital on 18 Mar 2023, Saturday. SWA supplied eye examination equipment and volunteers for this event. This one-day event managed to help up to 88 patients with eye screening.
Five volunteer doctors, namely Dr Teoh Chin Sheng, Dr Dayna Yong, Dr Tina Shen, Dr Kristal Chew, and Dr Stephanie Young, graciously donated their time and expertise to provide free eye examinations for the elderly.
SWA's Singapore VisionCare Programme frequently reaches out to individuals over 40 to identify and address potential eye problems. This initiative is made possible through partnerships with community clubs, senior homes, sponsorships, and donations that help keep this programme running.

The eye examination equipment, overseen by SWA, brings essential eye care services to the community for the early detection and prevention of eye disorders. Maintaining and replacing such equipment can be expensive.
